It is vital that you look after your swegway battery properly, as it is the most important part of the whole board! Without it, the swegway wouldn’t operate properly, and you wouldn’t be able to spend hours of fun gliding and spinning around.
The proper maintenance of your swegway battery can make a huge difference with regards to the lifespan of your board, as well as helping it to last for longer during use!
That’s why we’ve decided to put together this quick guide to protecting your swegway battery.
About the batteries
All of our swegways at the Swegway Shop run off high-quality lithium-ion batteries, which when maintained and protected properly, can provide hours of enjoyment from full charge.
With the exception of our 6.5” Classic Disco Swegways, all swegs are powered with Samsung batteries, but 100% of the batteries on our website have been tried and tested to be completely safe and secure, being both CE and RoHS compliant! These batteries can power a swegway for a couple of hours from full charge, taking the hoverboard to a maximum of 10mph, and a gradient of 16 degrees.
Advice for protecting your Swegway battery
There are several steps you can take to protect your swegway battery, which begins as soon as you become the proud owner of a brand new hoverboard!
Swegway Shop recommends that you should always give your board a full night’s charge before using it for the first time. This will ensure that the swegway is fully charged and ready to go once you decide to begin your Sweg adventure! The board will come with some charge in it, but you should always take this first step to fully charge the battery so you aren’t disappointed!
Secondly, all new and experienced sweg owners should avoid letting the battery of their swegway run completely flat. Similarly to phone batteries, this can be detrimental to your hoverboard’s battery and can shorten the battery life if it is done enough times. To avoid this, you should always make sure that the Swegway is switched off when you have finished using it, and always place it on charge to replenish the battery.
If you have not used the swegway for a few days, you should equally place it on charge prior to using it again, to ensure the batteries are topped up!
Another thing to be aware of is that the environment your swegway is stored in can have an impact on the board’s battery life. If the swegway is stored and used in colder environments (less than -5C), your swegway’s battery might last for less time. Therefore, we recommend storing your swegway in a warm, dry place, and only using it when the temperatures outside are above freezing, particularly during the winter months.
We hope that these top tips help you to protect your Swegway’s battery, and keep on having hours and hours of fun with your board!
